Aurora

Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is a Norwegian song writer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th of 2015 receiving rave reviews from music blogs as well as from the press. Half the World Away - by the Oasis to accompany John Lewis' Christmas ad and Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole is already two notable covers that she has recorded. The singer gained further attention from a post by Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her track Runaway. Celebrate the special occasion. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music was discovering a grand piano that was in the attic. She was fascinated by the possibilities it offered. Parents May-Britt along with Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as an occupation or pastime but to grow. To achieve this she started writing her own new compositions. She credits Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen and Bjork as her main influences. Her mother encouraged her to perform her songs in public, not in order to achieve fame, but rather to let others know the importance of their work and how they can make a difference for humanity. She started playing piano when she was six years old and began writing music when she was nine. Her family didn't have any idea about it until she was fourteen. Aurora was not a dream of her childhood. The singer says that she simply likes writing songs. The music she composes is the way that she feels everything.
